HEY SANTA ! HERE'S OUR LIST OF WHAT TO DONATE TO A HOMELESS SHELTER

We almost always have personal care supplies such as shampoos and deodorant.

We can use:

TAMPONS and SANITARY NAPKINS
UNDERWEAR AND BRAS (new please!)
SOCKS (ditto!)
LAUNDRY MONEY (a few dollars in quarters)
WHEELED SUITCASES and KNAPSACKS
LIGHTWEIGHT RAIN PROOF ZIPPERED carry bags.
SHOES (We do not want your foot fungus! If the shoes cannot be washed in hot water before donation they need to be NEW!)
RAIN GEAR

I have often tried to contact the folks who make the trial sized shampoos and soaps for the hotels. They would be so perfect to carry and not have to hope that a public shower has enough soap or that a bigger bottle may spill. homelessinla.wordpress.com

These samples are often given out at shelters and at clothing give-aways. They do keep the weight down when you have to carry what you have with you. We strongly suggest that you join a gym if at all possible and use the gym not only to exercize and have somewhere to be but to shower and keep yourself clean.
