ACTORS FACING HOMELESSNESS - ACTORS FUND - ANYONE OUT THERE FAMILIAR WITH THIS ONE?

ACTORS FUND - LOS ANGELES RESOURCE CENTER - FACING HOMELESSNESS

A few years back we met an out of work actress who was preparing to live in her truck "temporarily."
We hope that she's back in housing now.

                  ...
The Actors Fund is a nonprofit, nationwide human services organization providing programs that support the unique, essential needs of all who work in entertainment and the performing arts - on stage or camera and behind the scenes. The Actors Fund assists those working in theater, film, television, radio, music, dance, opera and circus. The Fund is a safety net, offering quality services for and individual attention to our community, giving all a responsive place to turn in times of need or crisis.

The Actors Fund offers a broad spectrum of programs including comprehensive social services, health care services, employment and training and housing. Administered through our offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, these programs help people solve problems and make positive changes in their lives.

All Actors Fund services are completely confidential. Eligibility varies by program.

We decided to post this one, even though on their housing list it appears they are referring out to the SAME OLD SAME OLD...  Los Angeles Family Housing (yawn!)  PATH (another yawn) and so on.

We also see this http://www.actorsfund.org/services-and-programs/housing

We hope they are not in the business of REFERRING PEOPLE to other programs, as there is no need for a nonprofit to exist in order to do referrals to other non-profits.

We asked "DID YOU DO MOVIE EXTRA WORK?"  a few posts ago because we meet a lot of people who say they have done it (and didn't make enough money to pay their rent) or they are doing it (while living in a shelter) and so we figure that a lot of people in "the industry" who work behind the scenes may also experience underpayment, underemployment, big gaps in employment, or other issues that lead to HOMELESSNESS.

ANYONE CARE TO REPORT IN on ACTORS FUND?
