WE WANT REFERRALS TO EBT FOOD - RESTAURANTS

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE RESTAURANT BENEFIT?

You must physically be unable to cook.  This means that you do not have the equipment to cook. This means that you are homeless, living in a vehicle such as an RV without cooking/running water, living in a room or SRO without a kitchen, or in an apartment without a stove and refrigerator.  (We know some of you make do with ice chests and hot plates.  We don't think that counts.)

OR you may have a disability that prevents you from cooking for yourself.
Maybe sometimes you can cook but you need to eat every day.  So a significant disability to cook everyday is enough.

WOW!  THERE ARE SOME NEW INDEPENDENTS TAKING EBT.  CALL AHEAD!

We are always looking for small, independent, restaurants with quality food at a good price that take EBT FOOD STAMPS / CAL FRESH/ SNAP !  We mean the FOOD part, not the CASH part.  (Some of you might not mind using your CASH PORTION for food but most of us can't afford to!)

If you own one or have been dining in that serves good food and is nice to homeless people please contact us so we can spread the word!

SPECIAL NOTE: PEOPLE IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND SAN BERNARDINO are looking for EBT restaurants. (Our suggestion is to check into the fast food chains first.  Find your county DPSS office and link!)
In Los Angeles County some of the following fast food restaurants do take EBT FOOD BENEFIT.

El POLLO LOCO  (probably the healthiest on this list but getting expensive!)
PIZZA HUT
DOMINO'S PIZZA
JACK N A BOX
SUBWAY
KENTUCKY FRIED

We know it's a pain but if you have a cell with Internet, you may want to get a phone number and call ahead.
