EUGENE OREGON has HOMELESS NEWS PAPER

Link now to the news article about this new Homeless Owned and Operated Newspaper!

"Now, Eugene has its very own 'street paper' called the Oregon Vagabond. Financed by volunteers, the first issue came out just this week (January 4, 2010) The writers, photographers and the vendors of the Vagabond are from the homeless community."

Great Going EUGENE OREGON!

I am homeless here in Eugene Oregon. I began to take an interest in what the internet had to provide. Haven't read the new homeless paper, but am excited and interested in this.
Thanks to those who have done this.

I drive down Willamette frequently. I'm 22 and I see that man holding his paper "The Vagabond" and its so fucking inspirational... it really makes me feel for the people who do it. I don't know anything about it and I would really like to, I don't care if it costs money or not, I need to get out of my car and fuck the rich driving around in their Lexus' and BMW's, walking around in their Italian leather, buying needless shit making people work for 'em paying them shit and charging an ass load so they can go sailing-people and grab one of these papers, shake his hand and say "you made a difference in my life, because you don't have much and you've accomplished more than I have, and I have the world at my feet", you know why I haven't accomplished much? Or why the majority of kids my age haven't don't much? Its because we haven't suffered enough, we haven't had enough hardship and the lot of us haven't a clue what a lesson of life, is. Reform, reconstruct yourselves... Thank you for standing there with your paper, making a difference. You matter, in the sea of that which has singled you out, you're making a difference. You're working... These rich, these spoiled Eugenian yuppies are tangled in a web of identity confusion. You got yourself, keep it going. Thank you!

Awesome! I'm in Eugene today as part of a 50 state, 50 week trek across the country. My husband and I live in a pickup truck, and I've been on the road for almost two years now. We do our best to Spread The Love and redistribute the wealth among the people we meet along the way. I was in Boston last year when I came across a street paper called Spare Change. I started writing for them, just volunteering the blogs that I was already posting online. The papers are sold by local vendors who get to keep their profits. Street papers are awesome ideas! They are being published all over the world! Thanks for the post. Even if I read it long after it was posted... :) MuchLove!
