FAMILY CAMPING IN SANTA PAULA CALIFORNIA

This slideshow and article by Lucy Nicholson from Rueters News Service is pretty impressive. There's been a lot of homeless in the news lately. Sometimes pictures say it better than words. "Homeless Single Moms Struggle to Make Ends Meet" is the name of the article, linked here.

"They all are part of a disturbing trend in the United States. One in 45 children, totaling 1.6 million, is homeless, the highest number in U.S. history, according to a 2011 report from the National Center on Family Homelessness."

Years ago before it was as common to be homeless and the North Hollywood police station was in the park behind the library and there were outhouses and big light, there were homeless familys sleeping in their cars back there. There are people including families sleeping in cars in a lot of all night grocery stores and in the park. I think the idea of parking in the police station parking lot is a good idea. Homeless familys want to sleep and not be scared of someone trying to break in the car and hurt them.
