Using Feedjit, we learned that RUSSIA is MONITORING this blog... we mean hits that are automated on the hour or half hour for days on end. If we thought someone was actually READING the blog then we could think that maybe they would learn something, maybe be inspired.
MAYBE YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT HOMELESS IN RUSSIA are dealing with COLD weather six months out of the year and sometimes there are 17 hours of night. So people turn to VODKA though some feel it is VODKA that brought them to the street. Reading around the subject we learned that JUST LIKE IN THE UNITED STATES coming out of prison with nowhere to go and unemployment are two of the other leading causes. There are also lots and lots of Street Children and we don't mean just Run Away Teenagers, we mean little kids. Since there are few if any homeless shelters, most Russian homeless are Street Homeless.
ABC INTERNATIONAL - MOSCOW HOMELESS WALK ALL NIGHT TO AVOID FREEZING TO DEATH

DR ELIZAVETA GLINKA is one of the VERY FEW who care about Homeless in Moscow.
"After a half dozen years providing medical care to Moscow's homeless, Dr. Elizaveta Glinka, or Dr. Liza as she is known, has seen everything. The most common injuries are frostbitten extremities and burns from unsafe heaters.
The worst, she says, are the frozen bodies she and her fellow volunteers find.
Every day she sees homeless patients in her clinic, part of a charity she runs called "Just Help." Every day about 100 people come there for food. A couple times a week she and her team take the van out to reach more people in need.
As men and women crowded around her van she doled out medicine, clothing, advice, and a hopeful smile. This was a good day. Someone donated a jar of caviar and she was able to spoon out some of the delicacy to the needy."
