WILLIAM AND KATE TO VISIT LA SKID ROW CHILDREN TODAY

Inner-City Arts will be visited today by the newly wed Prince William and Catherine Middleton, otherwise known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as representatives of Great Britain..

"The duke and duchess plan to work on ceramics and do some painting with 120 Elementary school kids on their visit. Prince William and his wife are to attend a teen dance troupe's performance. That the royal guests are coming is not lost on at least one teenage dance troupe member, 19-year-old Jessica Cornejo:

This is what's going on outside their castle. They're going to get a taste of what life is like for us. It's the best way to end that royal trip.

What might be embarrassing to some Americans, to let members of the British Royal family visit an area known to squeeze 4,000 homeless people in a 50-square block, could actually be a wake-up call.

Inner-City Arts teaches children dancing, acting, music, and the visual arts. Ninety percent of the students are Hispanic and come from broken or unstable homes. That Prince William and Kate want to visit a place like Skid Row, instead of just spending time with the "elite," says a lot about them and how they embrace culture, especially in places where you would least expect it."
